In June 2026, Nei Mom Uprising marked an important milestone by hosting its first joint training with DIVA for Equality, bringing together women for three days of learning, dialogue and solidarity around Feminist Gender Justice and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
Held at the RAK Boardroom in Antebuka, the workshop was proudly co-organised by Nei Mom Uprising, DIVA for Equality (Fiji), and the Pacific Feminist SRHR Coalition.
This first collaboration created an important space for Nei Mom Uprising members and representatives from other women’s groups to come together, share their lived experiences, strengthen their understanding of feminist gender justice and SRHR, and learn from one another.
For Nei Mom Uprising, strengthening knowledge of SRHR is an important part of empowering women and girls to understand their rights, make informed decisions, participate confidently in discussions that affect their lives, and advocate for services and systems that respond to their needs.
The three-day gathering also helped build new relationships and strengthen solidarity between women in Kiribati and the wider Pacific feminist movement. The meaningful discussions demonstrated the value of creating safe spaces where women can speak, listen, learn and collectively identify priorities for change.
